All true. Yet in no culture in the history of humanity have homosexual couplings or groupings been seen as married. This is uncharted territory. Homosexuality and pedophilia have been socially acceptable in many societies yet never have gay trysts been seen as anything more than bonding experiences, sexual outlets, morale boosters. Never married.

Wrong! Native Americans honored the union of gay couples and held them in high regard, referring to a gay individual as being blessed with two spirits. Similar traditions existed among the native people of Siberia (from where Native American ancestors migrated to North America 20,000 years ago), as well as central and southeast Asia.

It wasn't until caucasian Europeans with their homophobic christian influences invaded tribal lands, bringing their ignorance and myopic traditions with them, that gay unions were stigmatized.
