The debt is a problem that we can ignore for only so long. It will catch up to us.

Economists "theorize" there would be calamity, but the fact is, there is plenty of money rolling in to pay the interest on the debt while congress works on a more permanent solution.

The profits gleaned off the National Debt is what makes the world go round these days. The money made off the debt is too important to ever see the debt be paid off. Its a pipe dream to believe such a thing will ever happen. Its time TEA Baggers learned the difference between running a homeowners budget and running a nation. Paying the interest on the debt is simply rewarding the banks. They'd love it if we did that.

Sebelius: Possible for convicted felons to become Obamacare

WASHINGTON — Health and Human Services Sec. Kathleen Sebelius acknowledged Wednesday that it would be possible for a convicted felon to become an Obamacare navigator — one of the workers responsible for helping people deal with the ins and outs of the healthcare law.

“Isn’t it true there is no federal requirement for navigators to undergo a criminal background check, even though they will receive personal information from the individuals they help to sign-up up for the Affordable Care Act?” asked Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn at a Senate Finance Committee hearing at which Sebelius was testifying.

“That is true,” Sebelius replied. “States could have an additional background check and other features, but it is not part of the federal requirement.”

“So a convicted felon could be a navigator and acquire sensitive personal information?” Cornyn asked.

“That is possible,” Sebelius acknowledged. “We have contracts with organizations and they have taken the responsibility to screen the individual navigators and make sure they are sufficiently trained for the job.”

Asked by Georgia Republican Sen. Johnny Isakson if they would be open to a federal requirement for background checks, Sebelius said it was up to congress, but that they would certainly look at it.

Curious what the point is here, are you taking a political swipe at Sebelius here, Obama, or what? I sense you think one of them is at fault for rules Congress writes, am I close?

The ACA is starting to steamroll the startup narrative the Republicans have been dug in and screeching nonstop.

As sites go online and work as originally planned, there are huge numbers of enrollees piling up all over the gawtdayam country!

Oklahoma has well into the 150,000 number, and I suspect the Republicans are once again about to find themselves without air in their sails.

Since his lapband and I assume coincidentally, there are no longer reports of entire truckloads of dough used in cake manufacturing disappearing from the Jersy Turnpike.

According to a GOP Congresscritter, he claims there is a law already in place where insurance companies who already have existing policies in place can keep them as is till they expire, which means Obama was truthful all along. The funny part is, the GOP is going to break the news of this law in an attempt to crush the ACA in place. So they're going to show that Obama was in fact correct that current policyholders could keep them.

Must be some real panic in the back rooms of the GOP right now.

LMAO!!

Lol this is just more fuhking TEApublican lying and sophistry run amok.....

College students can get a healthcare plan or they can stay on mom and dads, but if they go through the ACA portal, they will find out they can get a policy for next to nothing after tax credits. Like 12.00 a month.

Right now, this minute, if an individual were to price a health insurance policy on the ACA Website lets just use a silver plan with the required minimums, then take that policy and price the exact same policy with the very same coverage on the open market with any insurance company, the ACA Policy would be lower priced, even without any tax credit (subsidy) figured in.

TEApublicans can suck on that.

And I love how the Right takes every opportunity to manipulate perceptions, thinking they can hide the giant multi-national corporate food producers behind the quaint term "American farmers"

I guess all they need to do is keep convincing the millions of ignorant stooges like littlehawk. Not a difficult feat, at the end of the day.

And selective amnesia belongs to the idiots who forget that the Republican Party of old was the Left leaning Liberal party. If they want to continue to claim that their ideology hasn't changed in 150 years, they best be making a hard turn to left pretty soon. They've got a whole lot of ground to cover.

Sorry, but you don't get to take credit for someting Repulicans did. Giving someone a hand up is what Condervatives do. Like they did by giving black Americans their own land so they could raise their own food, and make a living.

Giving someone a hand out is what liberals do. Give people food stamps every month for doing absolutely nothing. Your idealism keeps people in the chains of poverty. Conservative idealism helps people break those chains. Just like they did with The Freedman’s Bureau. Try again, spin-bot...

So what land did you slackjaw TEApublican fuhks give to blacks that you didn't steal in the first place?

Unlike TEApublicans, I don't have to lie about the ACA. The proof is everywhere that ACA plans cost less even before subsidies than open market insurance and they cover more things than open market for far less.

Suck it.

How many strokes to your head with a nine pound hammer does it take to come up with your blathering bulls--t dude.

I had to block this moron because every time I read one of these brain scans of his I had visions of scenes during Woodstock while Jefferson Airplane was on stage with Grace Slick singing White Rabbit.

If u dumbfuk Cons think voters are going to vote Republican because of a non issue like having to change doctors then I grossly overestimated your ability to walk and chew gum at the same time.

1000's of people have signed up for free Medicaid Wharf..... To date, how many people have actually purchased an Obamacare Policy?

You see Wharf, it really doesn't matter what the GOP or anyone else has to say... The reality is Obamacare is a lousy product that's target market doesn't have enough disposable income to purchase.

What point is there in sending people out to lie to media outlets if the ACA is so bad?

Why would 'the electorate' vote against everything they believe in because the details of one issue were misstated?

I swear Republicans are some brainless douchebags.

Keeping your same doctor these days is worse than having no doctor at all.

Insurance policy changes have been happening since insurance existed.

Noone can be denied new insurance so that issue is moot as well.
