I have a question for every poster/viewer on this board.

Have you, personally, had enough of a board that is constantly in break down and allows posters' personal info to be trotted out gleefully by creeps?

Who will take a stand for a board that actually functions? WHat would it take for you to be a poster who logs onto THIS site rather than the dotorg site?

What would it take? What is missing? Is it just enough people posting? Because if that's all you need, then YOU are the answer. If you need something else, tell admin what that is.

Will YOU stand for this board to replace dotorg as the go-to site for liberal forumites?

That seems kind of desperate. You should dig a tad deeper for a real insult.

It's time for those who wish to have a functional forum to start standing for it. I am one such. I will stand for it. If I lose my spot at dot org, so be it. I would rather stand for something good and lose, than settle for something bad and "win."

CP,
You've used the phrase 'stand for it'. I just looked at the lib forum to see if it's up or not. It's not.
But other than joining this newer version, NOT hosted by David, is merely staying out of the other enough to be considered standing?

I'm not a biggy on the server, host, forum, etc. You mods (apparently ex-mods perhaps) know this stuff, so it's an honest question on my part.

Look at the post counts.....
I used to show almost 4000 posts and I see a few here with 21,000 and so forth. How did the count history transfer? I would like that too. That number represents many insults (both ways) and one or two good posts.

Screw the governors. The SCOTUS has spoken.

Supreme Court, like any court, doesn't enforce anything. They interpret, others enforce.

So, you are saying: it is unique that the governor's crew (Nat Guard) must be yanked away to enforce orders against the governor's wishes.

Am I reading what you guys said right?

There simply are not enough posters in the Liberal Forum community to support two boards. We can have two boring boards or one jumping board - goes without saying we would all prefer one. So the qustion immediately frames itself: Which one?

The answer comes down to inertia versus momentum. Inertia works for the other site. I am trying to provide momentum so that this site will win. One has to be the big dog, or both are going to suck.
Google ad money usually rolls in between the 20th and 25th of the month, so maybe David will get the other board fixed in the next few days so we can get the word out ;)
I WOULD pm some folks.

But the pm don't work.
======================

I'll go in just to casually mention a different site. Like throwing a dead calf into the well. NP
The last place I was a frequent flier at (prior to LibFoum) lasted a month then they banned me. Some dipshit didn't like my attempts to find middle ground I guess.
A conservative website. That's why I loved being called that at LF-betatest.

So I can't say anything as bad has happened to me at LF-betatest. Should I feel bad about the dead critter in the drinking water?
Probably, but, WILL I?

What's this one called? LF.net? Is it settled yet?

Marion Berry might out poll Ford. Mitt would beat Ford. Maybe not in a chili dog eating contest.

Could be beer googles. but I think the rollercoaster ride would have been smoother even if ending in the same place (Bammy vs Romney).
I don't think worse than right where we are right now would be the case.

One's agenda: Change America fundamentally (regardless of the economics)
The other: Jobs

Could have been better. Jus' sayin'...

No, I don't drink, but, I also have never heard of a society in the history of humankind that didn't have a top and bottom strata with various blends in between.

There are ALWAYS rich guys and ALWAYS poor guys. Any balancing act that briefly comes close is akin to the plate spinning on a stick: temporary and high maintenance because it isn't a natural order (because of the other thing I just mentioned).

It seems keeping folks comfortable, even if poor, is not so bad. Allowing them the chance to become rich too. That's the henhouse the foxes are guarding: comfortable hens.

You've heard the scenario where all the people are stripped of everything and then each is given a million dollars. In a few years much of the same people would be rich and much of the same people would be poor. Just a story but I can't help believe that it's likely that would happen.

Maybe the 1% would become 2% and the 90% would become 85%. So why worry about it and be envious or pissed off?
You can't do much about it (please see the above underlined).

The guy who pretended jobs was his agenda killed jobs for a living. Derr.

And, yes. We needed fundamental change - just didn't get it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CP,
That's not all he did. You must know that.

And the guy who failed has given us fundamental change. Derr.
Barack the Promise Breaker has acted like Coleman Young. A divisive person for political gain.
The change is that we cannot be said to have disenfranhised the black community as a nation anymore.
No matter what spin anybody attempts, this nation elected a black man and re-elected him again. As president.

I don't like his lies and broken promises. Call me racist about my father then, too.

Right. And before reaganomics and the mitt romneys that it spawned, we had rich, poor, an all in between. But the richest 1% did not own 90% of EVERYTHING, with the next 4% owning 95% of the remainder.

Gosh, I never knew there were rich and poor and there always would be. I guess parasitims IS okay, then. Thanks for straightening me out on that.

Lowest social mobility in the developed world, with a greater chance of BACKWARD movement than forward. So, what are you prattling about, PRECISELY?

And that makes parasitism okay and your defense of it kosher? How?

Why do you leap to the defense of your masters/owners? Why are you trained, parrotlike, to respond to any call for greater social justice with the hackneyed "class envy" charge? Who trained you to ape againt your own intertests?

The "broken record" attack. I am repeating what? I am parroting and aping causes. The unneeded itemized forensics of a post that seeks a not overly-long theme.
You want it even MORE like a sound-bite?

You have been force-fed these hackneyed notions yourself. Really re-read yours. You stand on a self-constructed pedestal of altruism that I happen to find intrusive. At what level are you and yours happy? When EVERYONE has the equal amounts that you have just admitted is an impossible scenario?

btw We probably agree on some (lots of) rich folks. I don't have any real respect for the idle rich either. If they are law abiding, you dislike the laws, not really them. You may harbor a secret jealousy you label as hate to maintain your 'rugged individualism'. IMHO. Bitch.

As long as there's a check of "one side" against the other some semblance of accountability shows a little. Too bad they are almost the same big party deep down. Sure seems that way at least. Having just one party in, though, almost never has good results.
