"Airports scrupulously apply the same laughably ineffective airport harassment to Suzy Chapstick as to Muslim hijackers. It is preposterous to assume every passenger is a potential crazed homicidal maniac. We know who the homicidal maniacs are. They are the ones cheering and dancing right now. We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."

"In contemplating college liberals, you really regret, once again, that John Walker is not getting the death penalty. We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals by making them realize that they could be killed, too. Otherwise they will turn out into outright traitors." -- CPAC conference, 2002

really? there is a need to debate that?

(talking about Norman Mineta's cautioning the use of racial profiling against terrorism) "[Secretary Mineta] is burning with hatred for America. He has taken the occasion of the most devastating attack on U.S. soil to drone on about how his baseball bat was taken from him as a child headed to one of Franklin Roosevelt's Japanese internment camps.

As Mineta has endlessly recounted in interviews of late: 'I remember on the 29th of May, 1942' -- note that he remembers the day -- 'when we boarded the train in San Jose under armed guard, the military guard, I was in my Cub Scout uniform carrying a baseball, baseball glove and a baseball bat. And as I boarded the train, the MPs confiscated the bat on the basis it could be used as a lethal weapon.'

Good G-d! A guard took Mineta's baseball bat as a child, and as a result he's subjecting all of America to the Bataan Death March! Someone please give him a baseball bat." -- Ann Coulter, "Mineta's Bataan Death March" 2/28/02

Does this woman have sand in her vagina or something? Norman Mineta by far is one of the most patriotic citizens in this country. Despite adversity and being interned at a Japanese internment camp during World War II, Mineta served this country faithfully as a U.S. Army intelligence officer in Japan and Korea. He was also the mayor of San Jose and served in the U.S. House of Representatives for 20 years. He also helped establish the Americans with Disabilities Act. To say Norman Mineta is subjecting the United States to the Bataan Death March and burning with hatred for America because of anti-Japanese discrimination he faced as a child is far from the truth. If Mineta is "burning with hatred for America" then why is he the Secretary of Transportation for the Bush Administration?

Here are just a few quotes from the Quran:
Again, I plead with you to educate yourself, instead of relying on the internet to school you over and over.

Quran (8:12) -
"I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"

Quran (8:39) -
"And fight with them until there is no more fitna
(disorder, unbelief)
and religion should be only for Allah"

Quran (9:5) -
"So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them."

Quran (9:29) -
"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

Quran (47:3-4) -
"Those who reject Allah follow vanities, while those who believe follow the truth from their lord. Thus does Allah set forth form men their lessons by similitude. Therefore when you meet in battle those who disbelieve, then smite the necks until when you have overcome them, then make (them) prisoners,"

and when you can cite what each of those quotes pertaining to in historical context, AND cite every passage in the Quran that seems to contradict the ones you cited, we will have to assume that that your scholarship on the subject is cartoon cutout Horowitz driven cherry picking.

I suspect that the real reason contards are so protective of Christie and so in denial about the severity of this scandal is not just purely partisan.

There is a certain observable panty-wetting effect that abuses of authority has on contards - remember how they shilled and screeched for nanny-state torture chambers?

It's of no consequence. The adults will continue to do the heavy lifting on behalf of America - let the tards squeal.

If I read you right, you seem to be saying that there is a certain excitation they feel by the nature of going against what society seems to have given some indication of, as morally wrong. It sounds like some kind of defense mechanism being set off but i'm not sure, and not sure if it can be traced from that angle.

In the case of torture for example, I think that so many people never even really thought about it for themselves, and had some vague idea that maybe society seems to have given some indication on this subject. Upon reflection when seeing it in their face on TV, they consider and weigh what contrary indications there may be, asking themselves, "are there exceptions" (beyond the Jack Bauer hyperbole of course) but never really settling it for themselves. Never forgetting that this must filter through a strainer of "what's in it for me".

Then they hear limpjaw et.al. declare that it is not a big deal to torture humans even if they are only the brother-in-law of the neighbor, whose son might have heard that there were some terrorist over there in that direction somewhere. DING the bell goes off, that settles it, torture CAN be justified. The meme spreads, and civilization takes a muddy slide back down the hill.

Maybe this story is worth repeating here, if not, feel free to nod.

There was once, many centuries ago, a community of several hundred people in a town called Winken. They had come together for all the usual practical sociological reasons, not the least of which was to gain the trust of others in order to strenghthen their ability to pursue what they wished to pursue. Among them was a man that they turned to for guidance, advice, and settling disputes, but he had no title or official standing.

News of Winken reached wide and attracted the interest of a particular man called Blink, that ruled a community called Blinken. Immediately the ruler grew jealous and hatched his plan. To begin, stories about his rival Wink were rumored across the land. With all its due dread, tales of evil invisible spirits were spread. The hatred between the two leaders grew and the people of Winken recognized their possibilities and began to organize and prepare to defend themselves. Back in Blinken the people were ordered to prepare to go to Winken to take whatever they pleased.

The battle cry was raised and the two armies met on a vast field. The fighting was bloody and deadly in many cases. The two leaders saw each other and attacked with violent fury. After much parrying and clanging of armor, Winken raised his metal, and suddenly found himself on top of his enemy, holding his sword to Blinken's throat. At this, Blinken growled, "this means NOTHING!" and then the defeated man spat in the face of his conqueror. Winken immediately stood up trembling with anger, and wiping his face he pointed his sword toward the distance and announced, "GO".

"You are afraid to kill me, what kind of man are you?" mocked Blink. Wink answered, "Your life is not legal to me now. Before, I was going to kill you because of what I and my community believes in. Now,... there is a chance, even if only a remote possibility, ... that I would kill you for the sake of my own ego. Go."

when inadvertant torture and intentional torture have the same result.

the question becomes, what do YOU think of the result

if it is OK to champion that result, why didn't they slowly pull his arms off first?

I agree a quick death is what should be sought. My PC comment is in reference to those that feel we should be gentle and nice about it, which is what these drug concoctions are intended to be. To me, death is death, and a firing squad should be just fine.

If everyone is humane, there would be no murders and death penalty wouldn't be required. He was not humane to his victim was he? Guy was convicted in 94' for a crime he committed in 89', and wasn't executed until 14'. Not much deterrent in that.

Curious, would you be opposed to a lifetime of hard labor for people such as this POS? Or is that inhumane as well?

the term, "Hard Labor" is in itself vague enough that the interpreted meaning can lead to a path of being humane or inhumane
