Didn't know, didn't ask, didn't care? There are quite a few inconsistencies in what Christie claimed during his marathon press conference. Some of them are more glaring than others:
Christie claims he learned about the emails/texts yesterday along with the rest of us.

That would mean that not only did his Deputy Chief of Staff/Port Authority appointees lie to him repeatedly since September, she/they didn't even tell him after the emails/texts were turned over to the legislative committee, which happened a couple of weeks ago.

Given what was turned over and the number of people involved, that seems implausible.
Two of his own appointees were forced to resign over this weeks ago.
Press reports were already reporting that documents turned over to the investigating committee were incriminating for his administration.

But he says he didn't know those documents even existed until yesterday. Did the governor confine himself to a hermetically sealed box for the last few weeks? Was he working on a particularly interesting crossword puzzle?
Two weeks ago, Christie said his staff had given him a "full briefing" on the investigation.

That emails were being turned over directly implicating his office didn't come up? His entire office staff figured that if they didn't tell Christie that emails ordering the traffic closure existed, he would never find out about it?
This would all have been cleared up in an instant if Christie had verified just once that there was indeed a "traffic study" whose particulars meshed with the facts in question. He never did, and in fact was dismissive of reporters who asked whether he had done that.

As hardball politician (and one who has no been no stranger to scandals) he never once asked for a scant page or two of paperwork that would have made the single biggest scandal of his tenure disappear in an afternoon? And that his staff was apparently unable to locate such paperwork on their own was unconcerning to him—his claim to the reporter asking the question was that if he produced such documents his opponents would just "find something else?"
On a more petty point: how did Christie "not get a lot of sleep" for the past two nights when he claims he only found out about the connection to his office yesterday?

That's one night, Mr. Ex-Prosecutor.
That's not even getting into the premise of Christie "investigating" how this happened while simultaneously expressing no interest in talking to the primary, now-fired witness, but we'll chalk that up to Christie's normal predisposition to vengeance over logic, or his new claims that the fellow who had previously been described as one of Christie's school chums is in fact someone Christie barely knows

(convenient, given that the non-friend has spent the morning pleading the 5th.)
So far Christie is pleading total managerial incompetence, up to and possibly including sudden onset amnesia. We'll see how that works out for him.

So, let's review so far.
Like Obama, Christie has claimed no knowledge of the events.
Unlike Obama, Christie held a marathon press conference, answering every question leveled at him.
Unlike Obama, Christie has fired everyone involved in this event.
Unlike Obama, Christie has accepted responsibility for the actions of his subordinates.

I don't like Christie, but it fun to watch the Obamatrons attack him, for acting responsibly after their years of defense of Obama's irresponsibility.

BTW, did you know that more people have been fired over "bridgegate" than have been fired for Benghazi, the IRS Scandal and the failure of Obamacare, combined?
Ouch.

He should receive the same treatment that you have given Obama/Clinton on Benghazi.

Fair enough?

Hell no. Benghazi is trumped up bullshit that has been totally debunked as the bullshit that it is.

This is a real scandal, with real evidence, pointing to real players, that committed real crimes.

Now you rightwards are dragging the four dead in Benghazi through the mud again as a counter argument to this scandal?

Do you people have any sense of shame? Because apparently you have no sense of moral integrity.

Sense of shame? For what? I am leaning towards Christie being involved in a cover up. I should be ashamed for that? Who knew.

Thanks for clearing that up. But you are so easy to set up and knock down. Thanks for the laughs.

It is illegal for public assets to be used for a political purpose.
The executive director of the Port Authority said violations of not only state but federal law have occurred.

The executive director of the Port Authority is not a law enforcement position, it is a political one.
Did you notice he cited no laws which were violated?

And did you hold the same position when the IRS was used to target people for political purposes.
Or when the Obama Administration closed the national parks and monuments, for political purposes?
Or when they sent public assets out to lie about what happened in Benghazi?

The country has been on acid since 2003. Sometime in April.

you are indicting Obama with that statement. He uses the federal agencies to attack Republicans and Tea party people. But you progressives keep your head in the sand over that.

For example Gibson Guitar was descended upon by many gun toting government enforcers and the company shut down. They were charged with using a special wood from India they were not supposed to use. The government thugs ignored the documentation that they had gotten the needed permission from both the Indian and US government agencies to use this wood in making their top line of guitars. They forced Gibson to have that part manufactured in India even though they ignored the guitar manufacturer across town that used the exact same wood. The difference is that Gibson has Republicans in ownership and the other company has Democrats.

This is just one of many examples of misuse of power in the Obama administration.

That's ok. Obama said he was unaware of the strong arm tactics and was as pissed as the rest of us,

Yep, the bridge is a connector between two states, which means interstate commerce. The real crimes to me though is the delay of emergency response vehicles, and putting children on school buses in harms way. These are not petty instances of finger pointing.
