What has been happening is that a lot of businesses are just **** GREEDY. Gas stations charge between $3.20 and $3.99 for Regular. Normally there is only a 10 to 15 cent price difference between the most expensive stations (Miami Beach) and the cheapest (presently along Biscayne Blvd).

Grocery stores that used to have special offers have many fewer than before. Aldi's is way cheaper than any other grocery.
I think the consumption of eggs is rather constant. I eat one egg per day, regardless of price. But a dozen eggs are #3.29 at Aldis and over $5.00 in some other stores.

I  completed the entire course in German on Duolingo.  German is quite difficult, especially the syntax. The pronunciation was less difficult than I anticipated, but the grammar and syntax are a real hassle. When I started the German course, it was the longest Duolingo course. And then there was a minor revision and it grew a bit, and then Duolingo made a major change to all their courses and it grew even more. And I am having difficulty remembering the vocabulary. 

So I dedicated myself to Portuguese (actually Brazilian Portuguese, which is somewhat different from Peninsular Portuguese. I again completed the entire course. I have spent on average 45 minutes a day learning languages since December of 2016. Some of Duolingo's changes are done to get students to pay, but I have never paid, because the speed of my learning is not critical, and my goal is to learn and practice.

Portuguese is very much like Spanish. I have studied French quite a bit, have completed a Latin I course, and am entirely fluent in Spanish, so that helps. I can watch Portuguese and Brazilian films on Netflix and comprehend about 90%. The jokes of the play on words type and the slang expressions can be baffling.

I wish I were better able to practice house carpentry skills in the Miami sun.

My water heater lives outside in a small crowded shed sort of thing on one side of my house.
A neighbor built the shed in a somewhat haphazard way, and covered the sides with roof shingles.
The last hurricane caused them to peel off and generally look unsightly. So I am in the process of   covering the shed with clapboards made from fence board that I salvaged, sanded, filled out and painted with paint I bought in a yard sale. I already repaired the door and latch that my (former) neighbor installed than was way too flimsy.
I have found a lot of really good info on YouTube. It would be a satisfying hobby if it did not involve working in the sun.
Previously, I have restored chairs and folding tables and made them to look like new. But in the shade.

That is an example of what is called the Slippery Slope Fallacy.
If a shooter has a gun that fires six shots before reloading, he will almost certainly harm fewer people than some guy with a gun that can hold 20, 30, or 50 bullets. So at least fewer people will die and be wounded.

If you call then "adults", guess what? They are still dead.

The percentage of children and adults killed by guns is higher in the US than any other first-world country.
It does not benefit society for people to die young. Spend time and money educating them and they get shot and die, and all the effort spent in educating them is for naught.

This will continue until the smart people manage to limit the number of guns in circulation. Observe that in most of the mass shootings, thw weapons used were recently acquired.
