I paid $3.14 a gallon yesterday.
That's the most I have ever paid.
Thank God I got rid of the Escalade.

I fired plenty of blanks, it's hard to kill people with those... if they were live rounds however... but what would live rounds be doing on a movie set... maybe they were switched on purpose... I love conspiracy theories...

The difference between blank and live rounds is quite obvious, you don't make a 'mistake' like that by accident... so who loaded the gun... did Alec Balwin switch the bullets... maybe he had an affair with the cinematographer and wanted to end it...we'll see...

A female cinematographer working on the set of an upcoming western, ‘Rust’, died after lead actor and producer Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun. The film’s director was also harmed in the shooting and is in intensive care.

Hutchins, who was director of photography, has since succumbed to her wounds, while Souza “is undergoing treatment for his injuries,” the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department said.

Deadline reported earlier that the incident occurred during a rehearsal, and that “a principal cast member... **** a gun... unaware there were live rounds in it.”

A production spokesman confirmed to Deadline that the incident involved “the misfire of a prop gun with blanks,” insisting that “the safety” of the cast was a “top priority.” The movie town was put on lockdown in wake of the incident...
I remember that happening to some young actor in the late 80's or early 90's.
He was goofing around and held the gun to his head and fired. It killed him.

She's been gone for years but I still miss her terribly.
I had her for 17 years and she was with me through some very dark times.
She never left my side.

How is it that something that can't even talk to us can tear our hearts apart so completely when they leave us?
There will never be another Capone for me, and I was so lucky to have him.

I follow a lot of accounts on Twitter that people have set up for their dogs because the doggy pics make me happy, but mixed in with the happy pics are the really sad ones of people talking about their dogs being sick or dying.

Just saw this one.

Image Image
Those are the ones that really break my heart.

I have a picture I took of Capone a few days before I helped him cross. He is laying in his favorite spot looking at the lake. He was so withered and grey. Could barely get up to go outside so he was wearing a diaper. I can't bear to look at those pictures yet.
That dog was with my 24/7. He even went into all my therapy appointments with me.
We KNEW each other so well. All we needed was a look.
It hurt to lose him more than any human I have ever lost.

I have people who do my yard work, and put my dock in and take it out.
My husband starts the pump in the spring, and takes it out in the fall.
Other than that he is never there.
Also, he is terminally ill now, and can no longer work.
My kids don't come there either.
It's mostly my vanity project.
It's getting hard to justify the money.
It costs me almost $1000 a month for a place I can only use half the year.

Wait - what does "enforce" mean, precisely?

I might be misusing it.
That rule has beheaded many a poster through the years.

Capone must have missed Bugsy after he died.
Did he get along with Vito?
They got along, but they rarely interacted.
Capone was heartbroken when Bugsy died.
He used to lay on the couch and whimper for hours.
It was the strangest thing I ever saw in a dog.
He did that for months.

They had such a bond.

folks... gather round... Misty has a WHITE POODLE... PURE WHITE. NO BROWN, NO BLACK.

MISTY IS A RACIST! SHE DIDN'T GET A MIXED DOG.
Hey stupid, I am the one with the white Poodle.
And technically he is cream.
But he may have the fading gene that will turn him pure white eventually.
But, genetically he is cream.

Dogs, cats, squirrels, raccoons, birds, all the mammals and birds are sentient beings.  And since they are not human, they are all noble creatures and preferable to humans.  When we destroy ourselves they will be so much better off.
I have a cat right now that I saved from the mouth of a Golden Retriever.
He was no bigger than a beanie baby cat.
He is now 19 years old.
He has always loved all my dogs. Especially my Rottweiler.
He is still very healthy, so who knows how long he will be around.
My last cat lived to be 23.
I will never have another cat because I can't stomach a litter box.
But, I do think cats are pretty awesome.

I've reported threads for:

No more than five new threads a day
No trash talking about members and their kids
No porn, or links to porn
No gore pictures
No cursing in thread titles
No spamming
No advertising

and nothing was done because the mod who saw it first was irked at me.

<shrug>

The rules are enforced arbitrarily based on political affiliation, when they are enforced at all. Meaning left wingers get the sledgehammer and right wingers get a wink and a nod.

If you're looking for fairness & ethical treatment, you're in the wrong place ...

I actually only enforce the swearing rule.
I have fun changing the thread titles.

Goldens have become so overbred and poorly bred.
Once a dog gets really popular, the backyard breeders churn them out rapidly.

But I remain a goldie man, myself. I can think of a thousand things to mix a chow or a husky with, and come out with a superior animal. The only thing to mix a goldie with is another goldie.

After that, a chow mix - husky, collie, aussie; several breeds will make a fine combination that outshines either of their parents. I would say a full blood dane next after a goldie, but they are too hard to care for and too short lived.

Goldens were also on my list.
I really needed a break from Boxers.
They always die of cancer.
Always, and I have had enough.
Danes were also on my list, but like you said, too short lived.
The grooming is a daily occurrence, but it doesn't take too long and it's a good bonding activity.

Didn't you also have a dog that was the same breed as Capone?
I think I remember a dog named Bugsy.
I assume he is gone too.

Bugsy has been gone since 2018.
Also cancer. **** cancer and Boxers.
We rescued Vito in 2018. Drove to Ohio to get him.
Boxers and Poodles play really well together.
Vinny is a tough little bastard. lol
