Beau of the Fifth Column is a progressive. He has something to say about the “not so liberal” Democratic Convention lineup. As usual, he is thoughtful and articulate,
Thanks for the insightful video.

Because of universal Democratic agreement of the necessity of ousting Trump, Democrats are already united.  And those on the Far Left are just as determined as moderates, to replace Trump with Biden, so the their votes can be taken for granted.

That's why I think Beau is on target about the DNC strategy being to attract disaffected Trump voters.  But since Bernie Sanders will be one of the speakers tonight, I cannot fully accept the contention that the DNC has entirely abandoned the Left Wing of the Democratic Party.

Neither am I convinced that a Biden administration will be as Conservative as Beau forecasts.  For instance, Biden has frequently expressed support for an energized, new labor union movement with the aim of increasing unionization, Nationwide.   If he comes through on that promise alone, he will have accomplished a lot.  Of course much of Biden's ability to affect real change will hinge on whether we can flip the Senate or not.

#BlueWave2020 💙♥️🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🔊
Thanks for that.

It's very encouraging that the well-being of marine mammals and other sea-life is being so carefully considered in the development of underwater turbines.  These turbines appear to have multiple advantages over tidal barrages, which are far more invasive in marine environments;  And more expensive, to boot.

The great advantage of power generation from wave and tidal over wind and solar is reliability.

Without a "BlueWave2020"  we will never see anything even approaching a "GreenNewDeal" in 2021 to 2028 and beyond.  We have only taken the first baby steps toward replacement of combustion with renewables for energy.  In order to avoid the worst effects of pollution and Global Warming, we need to convert ASAP.

That's because most of the stuff you say is either double-talk, diversion, gibberish, semantic distortion or inane, sexualized insult.  Most of the time you don't make legitimate arguments.

That's why people often don't respond to the posts of omh.   Under those conditions, actual debate is impossible.

This is how we see our map in relation to voting:ImageHere is the problem with that map. It’s set up to show whole counties within each state. Not actual population, so it looks super RED.ImageSo here’s the final map that shows you where people actually are.ImageWhen you look at the top map, and you are a Republican you feel like clearly more people in the US share your views!   And if you are a Democrat, the top map makes it look like you are greatly outnumbered.  The bottom map, showing population, gives a much more accurate picture.

That literally describes Donald Trump's supporters.

You could argue that it also describes most religions, but I've often said that a Religion is just what you call a cult once it's gotten big enough and powerful enough you need to be more careful about insulting it.

This defines what the "cult of personality" is.   Like small children, members of the cult have invested themselves in Trump as the world's ultimate authority.  Facts are beside the point.  Contradiction by experts in their fields means nothing ....  In their eyes, Trump knows better than any expert.

Millions in this cult are so detached from reality, they are ready to die for Trump if need be, by leaving themselves defenseless against COVID19.  In my estimation, this is not only a Cult of Personality but a mass psychosis, driven daily by Right Wing disinformation.

A large part of the problem is low levels of education and a resultant lack of critical thinking.  Republicans have been fighting for decades to make it harder for ordinary people to get higher education.

Trump surely is the master of the cult of personality and for the life of me I don't get it.

Nothing he says or does is based on any type of reality, but yet they are soaking it up like sponges.

I'm still waiting for all this "evidence" to pop up. It's been weeks. Where is it?

I love the cartoons of Tom Tomorrow.  This is a particularly good one.  Each frame is a telltale joke, in itself,
