The House is poised to impeach President Trump for a second time as it meets Wednesday to consider an article charging him with “incitement of insurrection” for his role in last week’s takeover of the Capitol by a violent pro-Trump mob. At least several Republicans plan to support the resolution.

The Senate hasn't voted on the second impeachment yet.  This article of impeachment comes attached to legislation that stops Trump from ever holding public office again.  That is very likely to pass the Senate, even if done simply to eliminate the 2024 competition.   

Whatever the reason, the end justifies the means in this instance.  Donald Trump is a threat to American democracy.
