You’re right about one thing. The insurrectionists didn’t show up to a peaceful rally and mistakenly wander into the US Capitol. This was planned. It’s important to figure out how high it goes. We all know it goes as high as the disgraced soon-to-be-ex president.

I haven't forgotten how in 2016 he told his fans that if they beat up protesters he would pay their legal fees and how be praised a member of Congress who body slammed a reporter.
He said, "Any guy that can do a body slam — he's my guy."
Thus encouraging his fans to attack members of the press whom he designated as enemies of the American people.
(Members of the press were attacked and beaten on January 6th BTW.)
And those are just two examples off the top of my head.
There are many more.

All through 2020 he told his fans that the only way he could lose the election is if it was stolen from him.
He convinced them that if Biden won, the country would turn into a Socialist hellhole overrun with marauding gangs of brown people destroying their neighborhoods.

Then since election day he told them that the Democrats committed massive voter fraud and stole the election from him.

He's been pouring gasoline for years and on January 6th the match was thrown.

One sentence from one speech on one day cannot negate the years of hateful, divisive and violent rhetoric that he has spewed for years.

I am going to focus on that because the Articles of Impeachment are based on that speech with one mention of the phone call to the GA SOS.  As well as the fact that most of the democrat critters in the house are focusing on it as we speak.  

As far as your comment from 2016 this is what he said.  He did not say beat up protesers:

That is not beating up a protestor.  That is beating up someone who is attacking a presidential candidate.

Trump (2016) on rally protester: "I'd like to punch him in the face."
He also lamented that he missed the 'good old days' when protesters could be carried out on a stretcher.

Don't pretend that the subject of Trump inciting violence with his rhetoric is something that only came up on January 6th.
There is long record of it.
Many people have been warning about it for years, myself included.

Several of his fans have already been caught either plotting acts of violence or carrying out acts of violence.

Ask the governor of Michigan.

You can deny it all you want but he set this crap in motion a long time ago.

Where is the violence in that? I dont see the word FIGHT anywhere. She is calling for publich shaming and shunning.      I think she was wrong to do so.  To make a legitimately unpopular policy into a public personal attack is not how we should do things but she NEVER called for them to be hurt or for anyone to FIGHT with them
