Medical tourism is an industry. People in socialized Medical systems routinely travel to the US and other free market health care nations for treatment.

I have waited 15 minutes. I have waited three hours. Depends on demand. Certainly never received what I would describe as quality customer service. We have no examples of a stellar socialized medical system on the planet but perhaps we can break that trend. It's a gamble against the odds. Certainly a matter of faith rather than fact as you claim to adhere to. The fact is it's never worked very well where implemented.

They generally go to India or south America. They don't generally go to England or Canada. They go to places where they can pay for treatment, free market systems.Vegasgiants » 08 Apr 2021, 9:59 am » wrote: ↑ Americans going abroad for treatment are some of the biggest users of this
You mean wealthy people routinely travel to the US for care. Average people wait their turn. Surgeries and expensive care is prioritized based on need (not on how many zeroes are in your bank account). Those who are impatient and have the dough will travel.Neo » 08 Apr 2021, 9:57 am » wrote: ↑ Medical tourism is an industry. The demand for life saving care will remain the same but the abuse of free non emergency Healthcare will skyrocket. We already see this in our system. The poor get free healthcare and are not burdened with copay or insurance premiums. They take their kids to the ER for the sniffles.RollingRock » 08 Apr 2021, 10:07 am » wrote: ↑ You mean wealthy people routinely travel to the US for care. Average people wait their turn. 'For profit' healthcare means that only the wealthy and well-insured have access to top quality healthcare. Everyone else has limited or no access. In the wealthiest country on the planet, that is simply unacceptable.
If the best we can do is be like india or south America we have failedNeo » 08 Apr 2021, 10:06 am » wrote: ↑ They generally go to India or south America. They don't generally go to England or Canada. They go to places where they can pay for treatment, free market systems.

Racist much? They have top of the line medical facilities in India and parts of South America. Generally built for wealthy western patients looking to cash in on the exchange rate differences.Vegasgiants » 08 Apr 2021, 10:14 am » wrote: ↑ If the best we can do is be like india or south America we have failed
If you get treatment for free why wait to see a primary care physician?
