House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has rejected two of Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) picks to serve on the Jan. 6 select committee, citing that the outspoken Republicans may jeopardize “the integrity of the investigation.”

McCarthy announced Monday that he would recommend Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and Republican Study Committee Chairman Jim Banks (R-Ind.), noting that the two Republicans and three others represent an array of viewpoints and opinions. Both Jordan and Banks voted against certifying the election of President Biden.

Apparently you need to learn the definition of another word..."treason".

Why is it most liberals don't know how to use a dictionary?

I know how to use a dictionary and an internet search engine.  Apparently that is a lot more than you know.

18 USC Sec 2381;

Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Some key phrases:

"...owing allegiance..." is defined as "having an obligation to be loyal to someone or something".  A citizen has no obligation to be loyal...they should...but there is no legal obligation...problem #1.

"...levies war..." is defined as "to make or begin war, to take arms for attack".  Since virtually none of them had weapons...problem #2.

No, that is not a common definition of the word. That is a legal definition. Different.

Then the common definition is " the crime of betraying one's country, especially by attempting to kill the sovereign or overthrow the government."  Unless you consider EVERY crime "betraying one's country", that one doesn't even fit...particularly since the FBI and DOJ both said there was no plot to kill anyone.  In fact, the only person killed from the "violence" that day was a protestor.

Or, are we using the "I'm a liberal so words have whatever definition I need them to have dictionary"?

You switched words from "treason" to "traitor".  Did you think that would go unnoticed?

No...Treason (even using the common definition you wanted) includes the commission of a crime.  Being a traitor does not.  Someone can be a "traitor to a cause" without committing a crime.  Everyone who commits treason is a traitor, but not every traitor commits treason.  It is exactly like everyone who commits murder is a killer, but not everyone who kills commits murder.

I understand you're a liberal and that will go over your head...but there's always a chance it will sink in.

I agree...you are hopelessly stupid.  But, you're a liberal so it is somewhat expected.
