This country has VERY RARELY been "thriving in all aspects", if ever.

The riots were caused by the public torture and execution of  Geiorge Floyd, at most accused of a petty crime.  Officer Chauvin was known for his "knee on the throat" technique and his desire to use it, He was summoned from the local police station as the expert.

The riots were provoked by the excess cruelty and murder. The local police station was seen as a place that oozed repression and cruelty, and it was burned to the ground. Once it was obvious that the cops had lost control, looters took advantage of the situation.

The riot was not useless, nor were those who demonstrated or burned the cop station down. Because after this, the Minneapolis police will NO LONGER staff their police stations with experts in cruelty and murder. Chauvin and his accomplices on the force were properly tried and sentenced.
NO WAY were the rioters useless.

Oh the rioters were useless for sure!! Few points here I want to make. Floyd - I don’t agree with how the cop handled it. But if Floyd wasn’t messed up on drugs and would have obeyed police he would have been fine. Also your saying the rioters had a right to loot because cruelty and murder of a cop???? Well stats show more white people are shot by cops every year. Good thing white people don’t riot. Could you imagine holy cow. A lot of this can be avoided it really can

The police are supposed to PROTECT and to SERVE.
They were totally remiss in doing either in the George Floyd incident.
The police are NOT HIRED to kneel on people's necks. They are NOT HIRED to watch a bad cop murdering a civilian.

The George Floyd riots changed the behavior of cops in that precinct: you cannot deny that it didn't.

It is the job of the police to see that incidents like this do not happen.
