Let me see if I got this right.
Bill Gates have a constitutional right to buy  up as much land as he wants...so if we want to put a stop to him we need to force him to pay more tax on this land than what it is worth.
Once Gates dumps his land holdings..then millions of Average Americans will be able to snatch this land back up just as long as they are willing to pay the same  tax rate that forced Gates to sell.

LVT is a huge school of economics.  People studied it for years.  You're not going to sum it up in a paragraph.
 
Basically all the non-Jewish economists favored LVT or variants thereof at the turn of the century.  After 1913, they phased out of college curriculum the texts of the classical economists like Henry George. 

When you argue against LVT, you are arguing for high taxes.  That's one fact of it.

LVT is a deeeeep subject.  It's a system of economics that is a third way, superior to both capitalism and socialism.  It's quasi libertarian because it reduces taxes so drastically, government starves.

It annoys me to see people come and pass judgement on something without knowing a damn thing about it, when libraries have been written exploring the topic.

Not quite. Tax on land would go up, not down, under an LVT scheme. PRICES on land would go down. 

The biggest single effect it would have is on people who horde. It would **** them. RIGHT NOW, there are people hording land, preventing it from rising to its highest and best use. This is true of agricultural land, as well as municipal lots. That would end, right quick. Agricultural land would be farmed, sold, or abandoned. Vacant city lots would be built, sold, or abandoned. If abandoned, they could be got for the price of the back taxes. 

It would put a stop to urban sprawl. It would put a stop to farm-land hording. It would end the chinee buying up agricultural real estate, to keep it out of production.
