they do that to stop upstart entrepreneurs from interfering with their monopolies on various commodities, services etc
That idea is total insanity. but you like it. I understand why it will fail just like every democracy and dictatorship has or imploding currently.supraTruth4 » 23 Nov 2022, 10:13 pm » wrote: ↑ We need a National Land Value Tax & a recalculated Income Tax that starts at the top & works down in order to shift the taxes back up and off the backs of the working middle class and barely rich small business owners!
You don't have it right lolGHETTOBLASTER » 24 Nov 2022, 5:35 pm » wrote: ↑ Let me see if I got this right.
Bill Gates have a constitutional right to buy up as much land as he wants...so if we want to put a stop to him we need to force him to pay more tax on this land than what it is worth.
Once Gates dumps his land holdings..then millions of Average Americans will be able to snatch this land back up just as long as they are willing to pay the same tax rate that forced Gates to sell.

I know you leftists think yer getting even for something by raising taxes on the rich. But all you'll accomplish is making the poor poorer.
All overhead is passed down stream. And without admitting it, the party you vote for will do every thing they can to shield their money from the higher taxes.
Explain that please.SJConspirator » 24 Nov 2022, 6:48 pm » wrote: ↑ ^another genius who never sat thru economics 101 but just "feels what is right" ^

The #1 problem is over spending by the government.
BTW...Green is a scam!

It annoys me to see people come and pass judgement on something without knowing a damn thing about it, when libraries have been written exploring the topic.
It's like me saying I am an expert on atomic fusion and I never read a science book
you give no indication you have have read jack squat about the topic. You are trying hard not to understand.roadkill » 24 Nov 2022, 7:36 pm » wrote: ↑ I heard yer opinion...not an answer.
And you support Green...for what reason has yet to be explained why it isn't prime time yet.

As CP would say you prefer a prescription vs a description

Then tell us when yer ready to throw oil away and how our lives would be as soon as you do that.
Good luck with that !supraTruth4 » 23 Nov 2022, 10:13 pm » wrote: ↑ We need a National Land Value Tax & a recalculated Income Tax that starts at the top & works down in order to shift the taxes back up and off the backs of the working middle class and barely rich small business owners!
Not quite. Tax on land would go up, not down, under an LVT scheme. PRICES on land would go down.GHETTOBLASTER » 24 Nov 2022, 5:09 pm » wrote: ↑ So once LVT is put into play the billionaires will walk away from the ranch land and farm lands they bought from the common folk and the common folk will be able to buy this land back with less tax burden than what they had before.
sounds good.

Which taxes aren't?
No, no. I didn't bring it up as an objection to the LVT.

SJC and I spent several pages in another thread cornering that fool on LVT while he was SHRIEKING about how California oughta "raise taxes on the rich." We pointed out that money can (and does - especially in the case of Cali) leave town - land cannot.
Then he turns around and starts a thread - without ever admitting error. He's a **** turd.
