I thought about it but the price was too high. I would have paid $200.Xavier_Onassis » 12 Jan 2023, 10:02 am » wrote: ↑ Well, I think I disagree. Kfools can move wherever he wants to.
Buying the site seemed like a dumb idea, which is why I didn't even consider doing it.
Put another "0" on that and he might consider it.slideman » 12 Jan 2023, 11:26 am » wrote: ↑ I thought about it but the price was too high. I would have paid $200.
Isn't it? Look, I gave Kfools the benefit of the doubt on a number of occasions when the site shut down. He finally said that he wasn't going to address my question regarding what happened to the site for a month, but would make a video detailing precisely what happened and why it had to be shut down. Needless to say, he never made that video or offered any explanation.RebelGator » 16 Jan 2023, 1:17 pm » wrote: ↑ That's the biggest kick in the ***, he doesn't even have the decency to make an announcement.

I took a look at that board - lots of rules and uninteresting discussions. By now, I'm thinking Dot-Org is dead.LincolnNebraska » 18 Jan 2023, 10:58 am » wrote: ↑ US Message Boards, for one.

One person cannot launch a DDOS attack. Neither could ten or a hundred. It takes bots.RebelGator » 11 Jan 2023, 1:16 pm » wrote: ↑ Anyone else wondering if there's a connection between vegasgiants being ****-canned and the site going down? I think the answer is a combination of the things you listed - not any particular one.Skans » 16 Jan 2023, 12:06 pm » wrote: ↑ Well, it's been about 3-4 weeks now and Dot-Org is still turned off. Is it lights off for good? Will it be resurrected at some later date?
According to the poll results there is no majority consensus on what happened. The biggest group of people believe that Kfools has just moved onto bigger and better things. Yet, the 2nd biggest grouping believes he is out of money.

It's his site, but it's your community, and you are not wrong or immoral to expect a bit of stewardship and to be disappointed when that stewardship is not forthcoming. Adminstation and users are on a two way street in a symbiotic relationship.Skans » 16 Jan 2023, 1:54 pm » wrote: ↑ Isn't it? Hey, its his site. He can do what he wants with it. However, when you ask for donations and people actually donate and post content to the site supporting it, I think they expect a little more than what they got.
It's highly likely that some of what was agreed to occurred in PMs. That has been the case with my deals with Jinn Martini.Skans » 16 Jan 2023, 1:54 pm » wrote: ↑ Also, there was the whole Jinn Martini thing. Jinn was genuinely pissed because he donated money and he felt he didn't get what he bargained for. I went back to look at the "deal", and the fact is that Jinn never spelled out exactly what he wanted for his donation. He did get what he asked for, but Kfools apparently didn't like his demands. Some interesting drama, indeed.
That hasn't happened here.impartialobserver » 18 Jan 2023, 11:34 am » wrote: ↑ I have a feeling that .org may be done for good. I predict that KFools will say that it was hacked or needed an update or something like that. The simplest explanation is that donations were not enough and he does not want to subsidize it. With no revenue streams, the sporadic and infrequent nature of voluntary donations is going to lead to coming up short at times.
I was on US Message Boards once. It's 95% RWNJ's, worse than here; the biggest ******* ON THE PLANET! I jumped ship!LincolnNebraska » 18 Jan 2023, 10:58 am » wrote: ↑ US Message Boards, for one.

I believe you - makes sense here. But over there, it seemed to have been negotiated in the open. I went back and re-read all of the posts pertaining to "the deal". There was no mention of things being negotiated in PM's.Cannonpointer » 18 Jan 2023, 12:30 pm » wrote: ↑ It's his site, but it's your community, and you are not wrong or immoral to expect a bit of stewardship and to be disappointed when that stewardship is not forthcoming.
