Let's face it, the Twitter format for Ron DeSantis' Presidential campaign announcement just sucked.  And, it sucked for several reasons.

First, twitter couldn't handle the traffic, I suppose.  All I can say about that is freaking CRINGY.  Seriously, Musk, heads aught to be rolling this morning over that disaster.

Second, DeSantis' speech sucked.  It sounded like it was written by a 3rd grader.  Filled with trite "this, this and that" phraseology which actually said nothing everyone doesn't already know - that was the most disappointing part to me.

Third, was that Elon Musk doing the dang interview of DeSantis?  Was the guy high or does he just have a bad stutter.  Was he not prepared for this?  Either way, Musk PLEASE, stick to making money and not interviewing political candidates - dude, you suck at it.  Listening to Musk stumble through the interview questions was painful.

Having said that, I do like DeSantis and how he has governed Florida. After that roll out, it can't get much worse - maybe he'll get better, I hope so.  But, Ron, get a better speech-writer.  They guy you're using totally sucks. Are you trying to get votes or put people into catatonic comas?

Must not have been as bad as you claim.

DeSantis raised OVER $1 MILLION in under an hour after his announcement. Fact is, this was GENIUS since it reached TONS of people that don't normally watch any of the MSM outlets for anything. But they do get a lot from Twitter and they kind of understand the glitches that can happen when you have over 3/4 million people tuning in and bandwidth gets maxed out.

Then his interview on Fox News with Trey Gowdy was also genius as it appealed to those who don't use Twitter. In ANY circle you want to walk in, this was a good intro into the race and one that I am sure isn't going to be the nightmare you might want to think it was.

Fact is, the bye-DONE camp got scared as piss with a "new ad" that was nothing but an attack piece that fell way short. You don't attack people that have no bite to their bark. AND the same holds true for Trump. Only THIS time, I believe that all the Trump BS attacks are going to fall WAY short on tons of DEAF EARS since the legal battles he faces isn't anything but a massive liability to team Trump.

This was my personal assessment and response.  Others may have really liked it, I don't know.  Just to let you know, I haven't made up my mind yet whether to support Trump or DeSantis.  So my OP is not a snipe at DeSantis.  I'm just calling it the way I see it.   I was leaning toward DeSantis, but I really didn't like his candidacy announcement.  IMHO, it was a flop.  And, I did listen to it, even the dead-air at for about the first 15 minutes or so.

Ron was wrong about that.  We should ALWAYS allow Gitmo prisoners the option of starving to death.

Only losers commit war crimes.  Winners commit acts of valor.  The moral of the war story is - be a winner, not a loser.

The US clearly had troops in Syria. Israel had some advisors and agents in Syria as well.
No one won anything in Afghanistan. The US lost lives and over a trillion dollars, the Taliban is now ruling the poorest nation on the planet.
The US Army seems to have permanently damaged its own troops with "burn piles".

Trump negotiated the defeat of the US in Afghanistan, but was too much a **** to actually withdraw troops.
He left a tiny contingent there as a poison pill to make Biden look bad.

The war crimes of the US in recent times are nowhere near the atrocities that he Russians and the criminal Wagner Group have committed and continue to commit against the civilian population of Ukraine: bombing hospitals, schools, civilian apartment blocks.

Not but ONE TINY LITTLE PROBLEM with Reich's MEME!!

IT'S AN EFFING LIE!!
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) denied authorizing force-feeding — a practice that international groups have said amounts to torture — during his time at Guantanamo Bay, according to a new interview.

In an interview airing Thursday on “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” DeSantis said the allegations that he authorized force-feeding at Guantanamo Bay were “absolutely” wrong, saying that he did not have the authority to do so.

“I was a junior officer. I didn’t have authority to authorize anything,” he told Piers Morgan. “There may have been a commander that would have done feeding if someone was going to die, but that was not something that I would have even had authority to do.”

Reason tell me to go with DeSantis.....emotion tells me to vote for Trump, primarily to see him break it off in the Democrat's collective ***'s.

Goat herders were all that was left.  We killed millions over there.  It was a glorious bloodbath.  But, it was time to get out.  Biden screwed it up.  I would have dropped 1000 more bunker-buster bombs on them just to say "Good Bye".

What a dumb remark.

The US invaded Afghanistan to prevent it from being used as a haven for Al Qaeda. Once Sheik Omar and Bin Laden were gone, there was no reason to stay.

The Afghan people are not enemies of our country.
Bides was the only president smart enough to see that Afghanistan was a lost cause and he got out, even though Trump had already signed an agreement to leave and set Biden up for failure.   The US military evacuated more people than anyone has ever managed to evacuate from anywhere, ever. The 13 soldiers that were killed were no killed by the Taliban, but by a different fanatical group.

Murdering civilians is always a bad idea.
