They are a rising star in the microbrewery world. Mark my words.. by 2035, they will be right up there with Seattle, Portland, Grand Rapids Michigan, San Diego, and Boise. Not all microbreweries are owned and frequented by yuppie hipsters.. quite a few are down to earth operations
I've had a couple of mircobrew beers that I actually like.  When I go out, I'll actually use that as my opportunity to try different beers. The ones I like are far and few between, however, and I hardly ever recall their names.  It's not like I'm going to actually buy any to stock up on - I am a fairly infrequent drinker.

As to the three hundred calories, I never saw Guinness as anything but dinner. I call it liquid steak.

LOL - That's about what it is.  One Guinness, and it was like having lead in my belly.

So as a stereotype personality defending your typecasting mantra giving you human rights to deny why you exist in real time feel smarter than those you label subhuman intellects?

I can understand that. From previous discussions, I remember that you are not into the hop taste and that is what most microbreweries use to differentiate their product. The places that have established themselves will take a risk and introduce lagers, pilsners, and sours. You have less room for error when it comes to lagers and sours. If you do not keep a constant temperature between 110 and 125 on the first boil with a lager... you can't cover up the mistake with hops. A lager that has been "overcooked" will taste bitter but not like a grapefruit. It will be more like overcooked broccoli.

Most of the craft beers that I actually like are the lighter ones, but they are typically "cloudy".   Come on, can't they get the same taste but apply a little more effort to filter out the ***-pee?

If they are "cloudy" then it is either a hefeweizen (light German beer) or a hazy pale ale (unfiltered ale). Not filtering the hazy pale ale gives it the more citrusy taste. Also, it is less expensive to produce being as one step is being taken out of the process. Ales.. you can fix mistakes if your temps or times are off. Lager (of which Hefeweizen is one).. you can't really fix it. The flavors are so subtle that if you overdo or underdo (over is worse).. the difference is immediately apparent.,

They must have been hazy pale ales.  Because I really liked the citrusy taste of them. Too bad you can't get that same taste in a clear beer.

I'm thinking it has something to do with identifying as an armpit.

I work with some somewhat younger folks and I do not see any of the bizaare stuff that folks on this forum obsess about. Yes, these young people know their technology.. probably a bit much but no gender confusion or such.

How much time do I have left on this world?  Maybe another 40-45 years?  Maybe not even half that.  So, it's about 1,100 feet where I live. Got a creek running through my land for water. Not too close to any big city.  I can shoot any AI Robots trying to make it up my hill to re-educate me.  I don't think I'm going to "die off".  Just die.  I'll leave it to the next generation to actually "die off".

I like newcastle brown ale, generally. I like Guinness from time to time. And when I'm feeling my white trash roots, I reach for MGD in the bottle Those are the beers I keep in my home when I keep beer in my home.

Just out of curiosity, I looked up how many calories Guinness extra stout has.  175 calories.  Now, that may seem like a lot, but I can down two Miller Lights - -96 calories pretty quickly on a hot day.  With Guinness, the taste is so damn harsh, it might take me 30 minutes to drink half, and then the other half is warm and it will take me even longer to finish that off.  So, if I can make one Guinness last an evening, then I come out better drinking it rather than 2-3 Miller Lights.
