True. Strategically if Ukraine had taken Donetsk and LuganskCannonpointer » 17 Nov 2023, 3:13 pm » wrote: ↑ I happen to agree that his motives were in large part humanitarian. But that opinion is based on watching him speak about human rights. Even if you take the humanitarian aspect out of the equation, he had every good reason for the moves he made. So I tend to defend his moves based on exigency and strategy - though I do agree that Putin is not only a balls to the wall national leader, but also a mensch.

WTF, you only live once!! I had a ginger girlfriend once. Horniest little thing who loved a hard pounding session. A real screamer. I wouldn't marry her though, because there was no trusting her when she was out of my sight.Cannonpointer » 17 Nov 2023, 3:19 pm » wrote: ↑ I will confess that I would fight my geriatric heart out for the opportunity to disappoint her.
When you won her, due to my persistence in combat you would face a charge of elder abuse.
Yup. You take the word ginger, and move the first two letters, and you get ***.Skans » 17 Nov 2023, 3:25 pm » wrote: ↑ WTF, you only live once!! I had a ginger girlfriend once. 1. Jobs in Nevada (CES not QCEW.. if you need to know the distinction, I can lay it out)Vegas » 17 Nov 2023, 3:23 pm » wrote: ↑ From an economist perspective, what did you guys talk about?

If it makes you feel better.. my office has been the one leading the way in the use and adaptation of Python and R. The days of each person having their stuff stored locally on their computer and then sending them to each other and blah, blah, blah.. are gone. Most of the reports are automated with only the data input in the beginning being somewhat manual. We have persuaded HHS and DOT to use it. Less need for OT and less need for staffing.Vegas » 17 Nov 2023, 3:31 pm » wrote: ↑ Nice. It appears that my taxes are being properly used. Lol.

3. It would not be if this nation had any leadership. Annual midwest flooding could be stopped cold with the construction of a few large reservoirs and a water pipeline over the rockies into lake powell - and NV could be made an enormous oasis: Murka's new farm belt and the answer to our trade imbalance.

Thankyou.impartialobserver » 17 Nov 2023, 3:47 pm » wrote: ↑ 1. CES is Current Employment Statistics. It is a monthly estimate of jobs in a given area based on past CES data, surveys, some LAUS data (unemployment rate) and unemployment insurance claims. Each month, you get the national estimate and then formulate the states based on that. The states have to add up to the national total. CES data is an estimate so each month, the past month is revised.
2. QCEW is Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages. It is a population not an estimate of all firms and establishments broken down by NAICS code in a given area. From this data set, you get jobs, wages, taxable wages, UI contributions, and ownerhip (federal gov, state gov, local gov, or private). The reason that we do not rely on this number is the lag time. At best, the lag is 5 months. For example, data for 2023 q1 comes out in late August 2023. The reason is that you have to fine tune all of the data points such as NAICS code (111211 vs. 111212), physical address, administrative address, etc. There are minimal revisions to QCEW data.

Am I wrong to infer that CES is somewhat forced by a top down number from DC, and to that degree less useful than if not subjected to forcing?
