I would suspect the Tea Party of a behind-the-scenes smear campaign before the Dems, honestly. Christie is bipartisan and would work across the aisle, imo. They want someone in there who is going to push a rabidly conservative ideology.

Perhaps, but it's more likely a Dim. I doubt there are many TEA Party people working in/for Christie.
But in Jersey? Dimocrats infect every corner of that State.

Personally, I think Christie is an ass, and he probably was behind this 100%.
But I see no difference between them closing a traffic lane, and how Obama closed all the National Parks and Monuments during the government shutdown.
Politicians use the citizens as pawns in their game of power. Why is anyone surprised?

DEMS might work with Christie the way they wouldn't with the idiot Romney or rabid Rand. And the Dems would wait till closer to election to run a smear campaign. Tea partiers are too explosive for patience.

If he did it, he should resign. Two wrongs don't make a right.

So, you believe that Obama should resign as well for his actions punishing Americans to advance his political position?

I believe Obama should resign over Guantanamo Bay and the drone strikes he refuses to discuss.

But now we are talking about Gov Christie, not Obama.

You said that Christie should resign if he were involved, but now you don't want to hold Obama to the same level of responsibility for a similar offense against the American people?
How odd.

oh c'mon Rad... you're a 'seasoned' citizen and on the wrong side of 50! You're smarter than that!

On what evidence do you base this claim regarding Rad's intelligence?
I've seen no evidence to support this wild hypothesis.

Except that subpeona authority usually comes with the responsibility to preserve the confidentiality of the subpeona'ed materials/testimony.

IOW, in your scenario, someone would be looking at criminal charges for leaking that material.

"Usually" isn't true, and this information wasn't subpoenaed, it was requested under a freedom of information request.

http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2014/01/timeline_of_the_port_authoritys_george_washington_bridge_lane_closure_controversy.html
Nov. 13: The Port Authority remains mum on the lane closures despite mounting criticism and a barrage of questions from reporters at its board meeting in Jersey City. Sen. Loretta Weinberg (D-Bergen) files a public records request seeking information and documents related to the lane closings.

You should actually understand the subject before making declarative statements about what happened.

Like you did in post #4.

What in post #4 did I claim as fact, that is incorrect?

The emails were released in response to a subpoena ahead of the hearing in which Wildstein was supposed to testify today.

Interesting that your article contradicts mine in this regard.
Mine said that it was part of a freedom of information request, under threat of a subpoena.

On the flip side of your question, anyone getting elected from the Republican side will split the Republican party. Either a moderate would get elected, or a fire breathing batshit crazy freak like a Bachmann would get elected. Either way, the GOP will be in an uproar.

ps, I don't think ANY Republican getting elected is "plausible" (the party is already split).

That's simply not true. I can think of 3 off the top of my head that wouldn't split the party... Scott Walker, Rubio or Lee.

Congratulations. You wrote half a good post. You wouldn't know the difference between you ass and a hole in the ground. One was done for purely partisan reasons, the other was a government shutdown you moron!

Bullshit. The national parks and the monuments neither one had to be shut down.
That was done for purely partisan reason, making it EXACTLY the same.
Hell, they had to put security at the mall to keep people out that weren't needed before. EXTRA costs to enforce their political agenda.
And don't forget that they opened those monuments for the illegal alien march.

Tell me again Obama didn't do that for political reasons.
