Gas prices traditionally drop after the 4th of July.  It happens every year and vegie is aware of that fact ... he just conveniently forgot. lol 
biden is just trying to take credit for it...

 Joe made it harder to frack oil and paused leasing of all public land.  
Joe raised the carbon dioxide emissions tax on oil from $7 or less per ton to $51 per ton.  The cancelled pipeline did play a small part in the increase rates in gas (not a large part but it did hurt a little)
There was little demand for gas during Covid, after Covid -- the demand for gas soared ... more supply issues that were ignored by the biden administration. 
Biden administration reduced the advantages of taking risks in investing in new oil wells, which reduced both the ability and the desire to drill new wells.
