I have heard that as well...and heard he doesn't want the job.  But people take jobs they don't really want all the time, besides...that may just be talk and not trying to further divide things.

Don't know.  Seems like what they are doing isn't working.

ConRule.  When will Trump's name be floated.

In my opinion...it won't be floated at all by anyone serious.  Could someone nominate him just to get a rise of people and the media...sure, anything is possible.

If liberals and the media didn't constantly talk about Trump, he would probably be even more of a non-factor than he is now.  Liberals need and want Trump on the scene A LOT more than republicans need or want.

The GOP is looking more and more like a bunch of idiots running around pouring in and out of the clown car.

I LOVE it!

If the GOP cannot even control their own caucus, how in the world will they ever be able to successfully negotiate with the Senate and the White House? How will they be anything but an embarrassment to themselves, their party and their country?

the constitution requires that the Speaker have 218 votes from the members of congress.  218+ equals a win for Speaker McCarthy.  Anything less than that is, most certainly, a failure.

The Constitution requires a majority, which could actually be less than 218 if there are less than 435 members present and actually voting, if I'm not mistaken.

I remember reading about this scenario in 2019 or 21 when Pelosi was running again. I'm pretty sure that she could have or did win with 216 because they didn't have 435 members in person and voting due to COVID and/or vacancies.

You are correct.  McCarthy is going in the wrong direction, however.  The 20 rebels are holding firm and Kevin lost one of his votes to Victoria Spartz from Indiana.  The Never Kevins are not going to change.

Republicans don’t line up like cattle, it seems. 🤷‍♂️
